Coach Ross has been involved with football as a defensive tackle for 16+ years. Hometown native of Wilmington, NC, Ross led the New Hanover Wildcats in sacks during junior and senior seasons and was recipient of program's Iron Man Award in 2003 and 2004 ... A two-time all-conference (Eastern AAAA) and all-area selection for coach John Fitz ... Played key role in New Hanover's successful 7-3 campaign in 2004 ... Served as team captain during senior year and earned a total of three varsity football letters ... Also picked up a pair of basketball letters ... Named to school's Honor Roll for academic distinction.
At East Carolina, Ross as a freshman played in 11 games recording 7 total tackles, 5 of those coming as solo hits. Sophomore season Ross was selected to the All-Conference USA squad (honorable mention) by league coaches… Posted 12 starts in 13 games…Ranked 13th on unit team with 38 total stops (13 solo, 25 assists) ... Booked 4.5 TFLs (-21 yards) and two sacks (-12 yards) ... Recorded a career-best seven tackles (two solos) and 2.5 TFLs (-10 yards) against Houston. 2008 (Jr), started all 14 games at the tackle position as a junior and was credited with 48 tackles, five of those coming as sacks. Also stood third on the team with 9.5 tackles for lost yardage and was the unit's co-leader with a pair of fumble recoveries (West Virginia, Tulsa). As a Senior, Ross started all 13 games recording 42 total tackles (14 solo, 28 assists). Ross found the endzone once with an interception return.
Ross entered the 2010 NFL Draft and signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints. Prior to the start of the 2010 NFL season, Ross was released by New Orleans, then signed with the Green Bay Packers. Ross was apart of the Super Bowl XLV Green Bay Packers in 2010! Ross also signed with the Buffalo Bills from 2011-2013.
